Memory

“(…) When these projects are exposed, it is as if they bring to light (from an exhibition space) stories and memories of the city, lost and forgotten in time."

Filipe Cortez, May 2018

This space lives of stories and memories as well. We wanted all the elements that inhabit it to transport us to an environment in which we are not physically: Filipe Cortez's studio; a television series from the sixties; a palace in Estoril in the thirties.

It all started with the floor. With it we brought Filipe's ink gestures. Vladimir Kagan's chairs bring us to the atmosphere of Star Trek and a futurism of yore. The walls, the window and the Still Life on the wall awaken us to a timeless reality. The fabrics, the sideboard, the use of natural materials, the color, the textures and the warmth of the candles give this space a refined sophistication.

All this results in a strange mix of sensations caused by the presence of elements which represent in in their own way different times and spaces.
